Cochran man faces child molestation charges involving 12-year-old

Brian Mitchell Giberson faces four charges following a Bleckley County Sheriff’s Office investigation.

COCHRAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A 21-year-old Cochran man has been arrested on multiple child molestation charges involving a 12-year-old, according to the Bleckley County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office says it began investigating October 22 after receiving a report of sexual offenses involving a minor.

Investigators conducted interviews and gathered evidence during the investigation. The sheriff’s office says investigators also obtained a confession from the suspect.

The Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office took 21-year-old Brian Mitchell Giberson into custody Tuesday before taking him to Bleckley County.

Giberson is charged with two counts of child molestation, one count of aggravated child molestation and one count of enticing a child for indecent purposes.

The sheriff’s office says it will not release additional information about the victim because of the child’s age and the sensitive nature of the case.
