Wesleyan women’s club hockey team to make debut Sunday at Macon Coliseum
The Wolves face Georgia Southern at 1 p.m. September 27. Admission requires a free ticket. None remained online Wednesday night.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Wesleyan College’s first women’s club hockey team will take the ice for the first time Sunday, September 27, at the Macon Coliseum.
According to Wesleyan College, the Wolves will face Georgia Southern in an exhibition game at 1 p.m. Wesleyan describes the club program as the first women’s college hockey team in Middle Georgia.
Wesleyan expanded the number of available tickets after its initial allotment was quickly claimed. As of Wednesday night, the GoFan ticket page showed no tickets remaining.
Admission is free, but every attendee is required to have a ticket. Tickets were limited to two per email address.
Tailgate planned before the game
A free tailgate will begin outside the Coliseum at noon with food, Wesleyan merchandise and music.
The entrance facing Interstate 16 will be the only entrance open. The Macon Coliseum’s clear bag policy will be in effect, and outside food and drinks are not allowed.
One concession stand will be open with nonalcoholic drinks and light snacks.

Wesleyan expands women’s athletics
Wesleyan says the club hockey program is part of its continued expansion of athletic opportunities for women.
The college also added competition cheerleading, flag football and wrestling in 2026. Wesleyan plans to add rugby in 2027.
