21-year-old man dies after shooting on Pio Nono Avenue in Macon

UPDATE: Coroner Leon Jones identified the man who died Sunday after being shot on Pio Nono Avenue as Jeremiah Quantez McCrary.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A 21-year-old man died after a shooting on Pio Nono Avenue Sunday afternoon, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the 2300 block of Pio Nono Avenue after a call to the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center just before 3 p.m. They provided aid until firefighters and paramedics arrived.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said the man was shot in a car.

Jones said the man was pronounced dead in the Atrium Health Navicent emergency room at 3:16 p.m.

Jones said the man’s family had not yet been notified when he provided the information to 41NBC.

The shooting remains under investigation.
