Monroe County water customers south of Rumble Road under under boil advisory

The advisory applies to county water customers south of Rumble Road and remains in effect until the county announces it has been lifted.

MONROE COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Water service has been restored after a water main break in south Monroe County, but county water customers south of Rumble Road remain under a boil water advisory, according to the Monroe County Board of Commissioners.

In a Facebook update posted at 2:12 a.m. Wednesday, the county said its water department had repaired a broken main and restored service to all customers on the South Monroe County water system.

The county had announced Tuesday night that repairs would require temporarily shutting off service to some, and possibly all, county water customers south of Rumble Road.

The boil water advisory is expected to last several days and will remain in effect until the county announces it has been lifted.

The county said that announcement will be shared on its Facebook page, its website and through its Hyper-Reach emergency alert system.
