Dump truck driver hospitalized after collision with train in Monroe County

MONROE COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A dump truck driver was taken to an area hospital Thursday morning following a collision with a train in Monroe County, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the Rock Quarry on Highway 41 South around 10:17 a.m. September 11 after receiving a report of a crash involving a dump truck and a train.

Preliminary information from the Sheriff’s Office indicates the driver of the dump truck collided with the train.

The dump truck driver was transported to an area hospital. The Sheriff’s Office did not provide information about the driver’s condition.

The incident remains under investigation.
