UPDATE: Several shooters reported in Sparta shooting that injured five
A caller reported several people shot multiple victims at a home on Beulah Highway. Four victims were stable Monday and one remained critical.

UPDATE (8/17/26): The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says Sunday’s shooting happened around 2:52 a.m. at a home in the 2000 block of Beulah Highway.
According to preliminary information, a caller reported that several people had shot multiple people at a large gathering. Five victims were taken to a regional hospital. The GBI said Monday that four were stable and one remained in critical condition.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office requested the GBI investigation. Once the investigation is complete, the case file will be given to the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for review.

SPARTA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Five people were injured after multiple gunshots were fired at a party early Sunday in Sparta, according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a social media post, deputies responded to the party on Beulah Highway around 3 a.m.
All five injured people were taken to local hospitals. The sheriff’s office said one person is in critical condition and the other four are in stable condition.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Region 6 office is leading the investigation.
