Woman sentenced to 25 years in Peach County armed robbery case

The case stems from an armed robbery on September 1, 2024.

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A 28-year-old woman has been sentenced to 25 years after pleading guilty to charges connected to a 2024 armed robbery at a hotel on Watson Boulevard, according to the Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.

Destiny Boatman pleaded guilty August 4, 2026 to armed robbery, aggravated assault and entering an automobile. A judge sentenced her to 25 years, with the first 10 years to be served in the Georgia Department of Corrections.

According to the district attorney’s office, jury selection began August 3, 2026 and continued into the evening. It was expected to resume the following morning when Boatman entered a blind plea as court resumed.

The case stems from an armed robbery on September 1, 2024. The district attorney’s office said Warner Robins police were dispatched to a home in Kathleen regarding a robbery that occurred at a hotel on Watson Boulevard.

According to the district attorney’s office, Boatman lured a male victim to the hotel and let him into a room, where co-defendant Malik Grubbs and two other men ambushed him at gunpoint.

The men took the victim’s cellphone, wallet and firearm before forcing him to his truck and searching for additional valuables, according to the district attorney’s office.

Authorities said the men then got into a vehicle driven by Boatman and left the victim in the parking lot. Boatman later gave a statement to law enforcement placing herself at the scene at the time of the incident.

“Destiny Boatman used a vulnerable moment to set a trap,” District Attorney Anita Howard said in the release.

Howard said Grubbs will be tried separately at a later date.
