Vehicle struck by gunfire on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Macon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a vehicle was struck by gunfire early Monday morning in Macon.

According to the sheriff’s office, the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center received a call for assistance at 1:03 a.m. reporting shots fired in the area of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Plum Street.

Deputies responded to the scene and learned that a 62-year-old motorist’s vehicle had been damaged by gunfire while traveling on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Authorities said the driver was not injured.

No additional information about the shooting or any possible suspects has been released.

The incident remains under investigation by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
