Sheriff’s office says eight arrested in Washington County drug investigation

The charges across the cases include cocaine sales and possession, drug-related objects and probation violations.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Eight people face felony drug or probation charges following a months-long investigation into illegal drug sales in Washington County, according to the sheriff’s office.

In a social media post Friday, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said deputies and agents made the arrests Thursday, July 23, at locations throughout the county.

The sheriff’s office says the following people were arrested:

* 45-year-old Antonio Swint of Tennille: sale of cocaine.
* 66-year-old Dan Sanders of Sandersville: sale of cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of drug-related objects and probation violation.
* 34-year-old Jamel Ritter of Tennille: sale of cocaine.
* 46-year-old Michael Cumming of Sandersville: two counts of sale of cocaine and probation violation.
* 34-year-old Quentavious Peacock of Tennille: two counts of sale of cocaine and probation violation.
* 78-year-old Lenard Brown of Sandersville: three counts of sale of cocaine and possession of crack cocaine with intent.
* 55-year-old Lisa Smith of Sandersville: probation violation.
* 49-year-old Uolande Wright of Tennille: possession of cocaine.

The sheriff’s office says all the listed charges are felonies.

The Middle Georgia Gang Task Force, Georgia Department of Community Supervision, Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Georgia State Patrol assisted the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are likely, the post said.
