Teen charged after deadly California library shooting
Investigators identified the suspect as Bradley Scott Sayer.

(NBC)- Newly released video shows an 18-year-old suspect being restrained by police moments after authorities say he opened fire inside a public library in Chico, California, killing two adults and wounding a young girl.
Investigators identified the suspect as Bradley Scott Sayer. Authorities say he entered the library before the attack and later returned armed with a shotgun.
Officials allege Sayer intended to carry out a Columbine-style mass shooting.
“The suspect was a fan for some time of social media involving Columbine-type shootings and school shootings and had unfortunately made a deep dive into that social media community,” said Butte County District Attorney Michael Ramsey.
Police say the shooting unfolded Monday night, prompting frantic 911 calls.
“We had an open 911 line that you could hear gunshots and people screaming,” said Chico Police Chief Billy Aldridge.
Authorities say officers arrived within minutes, established a perimeter and arrested the suspect after he fled through the back of the library.
Social media posts show Sayer recently graduated from a local high school earlier this month.
He is expected to face two counts of first-degree murder.
Police say investigators believe he acted alone and have found no known connection between the suspect and the victims.
The victims were identified as 74-year-old Robert Johnson and 46-year-old Jacob Hull. Authorities say Hull died while protecting the injured child during the shooting.
The young girl survived but has not been publicly identified.
Sayer is scheduled to make his initial court appearance Thursday. His parents have not publicly commented but have spoken with law enforcement.
The investigation remains ongoing.
