MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Marshall Talley has won the runoff for Macon Water Authority District 2, according to unofficial election results.

Talley received 1,603 votes, or 55.14%, in Tuesday’s runoff. Ron E. Lemon received 1,304 votes.

The runoff came after no candidate won the District 2 race outright in the May election.

In that race, Talley led the field with 1,844 votes, or 32.20%. Lemon finished second with 1,593 votes, or 27.82%, sending both candidates to the runoff.

The District 2 seat became vacant after Desmond Brown resigned to run for Macon Water Authority chairman. Brown lost that race to Gary Bechtel, who was already serving as chairman.
