MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Bibb County man described by prosecutors as a longtime cocaine dealer has been sentenced to 20 years, with the first 10 in prison, after pleading guilty to drug and firearm charges, according to the Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.

The DA’s office said in a news release Friday that Deandre Williams pleaded guilty Wednesday to possession of a Schedule II controlled substance with intent to distribute and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

The remaining 10 years of his sentence will be served on probation.

According to prosecutors, investigators executed a search warrant at Williams’ home on March 2, 2022, after gathering evidence they say connected him to cocaine sales in Bibb County. Investigators recovered about seven grams of cocaine, digital scales, packaging materials, an AR-style firearm and a Glock-style firearm during the search. Williams was arrested at the scene, according to the release.

District Attorney Anita Howard said the sentence is a clear message that “career drug dealers who arm themselves and continue peddling destruction” will not be tolerated.

“Deandre Williams had every opportunity to choose a different path,” she said. “Instead, Mr. Williams chose again and again to poison our community with cocaine.”
