Deputies investigating late-night shooting in Macon

Deputies say the 29-year-old woman was hospitalized in stable condition after the shooting.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left a woman injured Wednesday night on Mercer University Drive.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 10:46 p.m. to a residential area in the 3600 block of Mercer University Drive after reports of a person being shot.

That’s where deputies say they found a 29-year-old woman with a gunshot wound.

She was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where medical staff listed her in stable condition, according to deputies.
