Green screens to hard hats: ACE students explore careers
Students learned about career fields ranging from broadcasting and engineering to health care and public safety.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Students at Academy for Classical Education spent Wednesday learning about future careers.
Students across kindergarten through fifth grade explored different career fields through classroom presentations from local professionals.
Second grade classes focused on careers connected to arts, communications, engineering and manufacturing. 41NBC anchor Tucker Sargent spoke with students about broadcasting, public speaking and television news, including how green screen technology works during weather and news presentations.
Students dressed up as future professionals, including scientists, police officers, nurses and athletes. Each grade level focused on different career clusters:
Kindergarten: agriculture, food and natural resources; human services
First grade: architecture and construction; health science; hospitality and tourism
Second grade: arts, communications, STEM and manufacturing
Third grade: business, finance and government
Fourth grade: education, public safety and marketing
Fifth grade: information technology, energy and transportation
