MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A 60-year-old attorney has been arrested after investigators say drugs were brought into the Bibb County Jail.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began after corrections deputies found documents inside an envelope that were soaked in a substance believed to be a Schedule I drug, commonly known as K2.

Deputies say an attorney identified as Kevin Paul Bradley brought the envelope into the facility on April 25.

Bradley was arrested around noon on Tuesday and is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance with intent to distribute and crossing guard lines with drugs without consent. He’s being held without bond.

The sheriff’s office says the investigation remains active.

“This arrest demonstrates our commitment to maintaining the integrity and security of the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center,” Sheriff David Davis said. “Introducing illegal substances into a correctional facility—by anyone, under any circumstance—will not be tolerated. I commend our Corrections Deputies and investigators for their vigilance and professionalism in identifying this threat and taking swift action. This case remains under active investigation, and we will continue to pursue every lead to ensure the safety of our staff, inmates, and the community we serve.”
