GSP: Head-on crash in Laurens County leaves three dead

Troopers say one vehicle crossed the center line, and a local school district says one of its students was among those killed.

EAST DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Three people were killed in a head-on crash late Sunday night in Laurens County, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Troopers say it happened just before midnight along Georgia 29.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, a Chrysler 300 traveling north crossed into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a Kia Sorento. The driver of the Chrysler and both the driver and a passenger in the Kia died at the scene.

Two other occupants in the Kia were taken to a hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening. GSP has not identified any of those involved. The crash remains under investigation.

Treutlen County Schools shared a statement Monday saying members of its community, including one student, were among those killed in a crash in East Dublin and asking that “everyone keep these families in your thoughts and respect their privacy in the days ahead.” The district has not released additional information.

The post said counselors will be available to support students and staff.
