Motorcyclist killed in Taylor County crash

Deputies say the rider left the roadway and struck a drain pipe and a tree.

TAYLOR COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A motorcyclist is dead after a crash in Taylor County Wednesday, according to the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office.

A sheriff’s office social media post said the crash happened around 5:55 p.m. on Newsome Road.

According to the post, the driver lost control of the motorcycle, left the roadway and struck a drain pipe and a tree.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The sheriff’s office says Georgia State Patrol is investigating the crash.
