A few strong to severe storms are possible late this evening and overnight

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Storms coming up from the southwest late this evening could be strong to severe in parts of Middle Georgia.
This Evening
It’s been a warm and sunny afternoon however cloud cover will work to return through the suppertime hours and into tonight. Around midnight is when the next storms should begin to arrive in the southwestern counties of Middle Georgia. A Level 1 “Marginal” Risk for severe storms includes the southern half of the region. The main threats are a few damaging wind gusts or some hail. Tornadoes are not expected with storms tonight.
Aside from the rain the night will be overcast and warm with most spots again staying in the low to mid 60s heading into the next morning. The wind will flow from the west-northwest around 5-10 mph.
Tomorrow
A mostly cloudy day is likely Thursday however the rain odds should be rather limited. A couple of isolated showers or perhaps a storm will be possible in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will largely peak in the upper 70s but a few spots may reach the lower 80s. The wind will be breezy from the west-northwest at 5-12 mph. Gusts will likely hover close to 20 mph.
Overnight overcast conditions will return and more showers and perhaps a storm will be possible. Wind will be light out of the north with temperatures likely to valley in the mid to upper 50s.
Friday and Beyond
The end of the work week and the first half of the weekend will be cloudy and wet with several storms opportunities. Saturday will see the most widespread odds as an area of low pressure and a cold front pass through the Peach State. At this time severe storms are not expected Saturday however that could change. Sunnier skies will return Sunday and carry into the next work week.
