C-130 aircraft move to cause delays on Highway 247
Deputies say lanes will close periodically Sunday morning as the aircraft is relocated.

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Drivers in Houston County should expect significant delays Sunday morning as a military aircraft is moved across a major highway to the south side of Robins Air FOrce Base.
According to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, a C-130 aircraft will be relocated Sunday, May 3, between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. along Georgia Highway 247.
The move will impact traffic between Bargain Road and Industrial Park Boulevard.
Deputies say both northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 247 will be periodically closed during the relocation due to the size of the aircraft.
Several intersections will also be affected, including Ignico Drive, Green Street, Watson Boulevard, Martin Luther King Boulevard and Russell Parkway, which will be closed to traffic entering Highway 247 during the move.
Traffic exiting Robins Air Force Base will also be impacted. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes if possible.
