Fire danger remains high Tuesday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Humidity will remain very low across Middle Georgia Tuesday afternoon.

A sunny and pleasant afternoon will become a chilly and clear night across Middle Georgia. While model guidance suggests that low temperatures will largely be in the upper 40s it is actually quite likely most of Middle Georgia drops into the lower 40s ahead of Tuesday morning. The wind will be light from the north-northwest throughout the night.

A mostly sunny and seasonal afternoon is expected around Middle Georgia with most locations seeing temperatures reach the lower 80s in the afternoon. Several upper 70s are also possible. The wind will be light from the east-northeast around 5 mph. Expect humidity to remain below 30% for much of the region. This could lead to another Fire Danger Statement for parts of Middle Georgia once again.

A few more clouds are likely to move in come tomorrow night however conditions will still remain below average in regards to temperatures. Expect lows in the upper 40s for much of the region (even if the models suggest low-mid 50s). Wind will be light out of the south-southeast.

Temperatures in the afternoon should start reaching the mid 80s around Middle Georgia starting Wednesday. Skies will be partly cloudy throughout much of the week with more clouds likely as temperatures push the upper 80s by the coming weekend. There may be some rain opportunities over the back end of the week as well.
