BS Report: Braves Haven’t Lost a Series
The Atlanta Braves are back in action tonight at Truist Park in the rubber match of a three game set with the Miami Marlins. Atlanta won last nine after the Marlins won game one on Monday. Tonight, Bryce Taylor will be on the mound for Atlanta. Braves have not lost a series all year long. They split the four game set with the Diamondbacks in Arizona, but all three game series so far have gone to Atlanta, so we’ll see if they can continue that trend tonight in the last game of the series.
They’re off on Thursday and then start a series in Philadelphia on Friday. Game three of that series will be right here on 41 NBC on Sunday night. Braves are doing well. The pitching the last couple of nights with Holmes and Lopez a little shakier than we’ve seen, but not too alarming. For the most part, the rotation has been really, really good.
The team era still the best in baseball with the bullpen era still being very, very good. And that’s something that has propelled this team. But the offense has shown that it can break out for some pretty good run production as it did. On Tuesday night. And once again, we’re seeing Dominic Smith, the designated hitter, do a lot of good damage so far.
He had that grand slam two and a half weeks ago in the first weekend in the series, and then on Tuesday night, a bases clearing double that won the game for Atlanta over Miami. So so far they are not missing Jurickson Profar very much. Well, we’re a couple of days away now from the Atlanta Hawks in their first game of their series with the new York Knicks, they will be the sixth seed.
The Knicks are the three seed. Game one will be on Saturday, and it should be an interesting series for this Atlanta team. Of course, the Knicks are very confident, and all the fans of the Knicks and all the media who cover the New York team are very confident as well, and I understand that to an extent. But not many people are giving the Hawks a whole lot of credit for being their number one and even having a chance in the series.
All of the ESPN reporters who were asked about the series, they all picked New York. So I don’t even know why the Hawks should show up to you, but we are looking forward to seeing how the Hawks will do in this series. Considering the fact this is a somewhat new team after the trades were made in mid-season and they have played very, very well since the All-Star break.
There is no question about that. The game they played against York a couple of Mondays ago was a very tight game. Hawks had a chance to win that game, but New York kind of, just powered through at the very end. There’s no question that the Knicks have a, size advantage on Atlanta. They have Karl-Anthony towns and also Mitchell Robinson, two seven footers who are very, very good and very bulky as well, while Atlanta, of course, their center Onyeka Okongwu is only 610.
So that will probably be the area the Knicks try to expose when they play Atlanta starting on Saturday. But the Hawks have been very good defensively. A lot of the Knicks people are really concerned about Atlanta’s defense and of course the defense wins championships, they say. But in the NBA you got to score a lot too. So we’ll see what happens in the Hawks.
The Knicks start their series on Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York.
