Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigating human remains found in wooded area
Deputies responded to the scene and found the remains of a deceased man in a creek south of Chambers Cove Drive.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after human remains were discovered in a wooded area on the 200 block of Chambers Cove Drive. Authorities received the call at 9:03 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
Deputies responded to the scene and found the remains of a deceased man in a creek south of Chambers Cove Drive. The Criminal Investigation Division and Crime Scene Unit collected evidence and recovered the remains. At this time, the identity of the individual and how long the remains had been there are still unknown.
Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley says the remains will be sent to the GBI Crime Lab for further examination and identification.
