East Laurens girls beat Elbert County to win Class A Division I state title

The East Laurens Lady Falcons defeated Elbert County 63-55 in the GHSA Class A Division I championship game at the Macon Coliseum.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The East Laurens Lady Falcons basketball won the GHSA Class A Division I state championship Friday, beating the Elbert County Blue Devils 63-55 at the Macon Coliseum.

It’s the program’s first state title, according to the Georgia High School Association..

The Lady Falcons finished the season with a 28-4 record, according to MaxPreps.

Elbert County finished 22-9.

According to the GHSA, Deanna Lowther was named as the game’s Most Valuable Player after leading the Falcons with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
