MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Temperatures will remain well above average through the coming weekend and isolated storms will be possible into next week.

This Evening

It’s been a mix of sun and clouds through the afternoon once again with plenty of heat to end the work week. Isolated storm odds will climb through the remainder of the evening and into early tonight. A handful of clouds will linger through the night and into tomorrow morning. Some fog will also be possible leading into the early hours of Saturday. Low temperatures will largely stay just above 60 degrees. The wind will be light from the south-southeast.

Tomorrow

Another partly sunny and warm day is likely for the first half of the weekend with highs expected in the low to mid 80s once again. Wind will flow from the south at 5-10 mph. A few isolated storms will pop up in the mid to late afternoon, becoming most widespread during the evening hours. Upwards of a third of Middle Georgia may see these storms.

Overnight a couple of storms may linger early but more are likely leading into the start of Sunday as a slow moving front arrives from the northwest. This is when the most intense storms may occur. A Level 1 “Marginal” threat for severe storms includes the for northwestern counties. The main concern is a couple of damaging gusts or some small hail. Low temperatures are likely to be in the low to mid 60s accompanied by light wind from the south-southwest.

Sunday and Beyond

The front will pass through Middle Georgia throughout the day on Sunday bringing isolated to scattered showers and storms. No severe weather is expected at this time although an upgrade to parts of the region to a Level 1 “Marginal” threat could be possible. Expect a lot of cloud cover throughout the day with high temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s. The wind will be a bit breezier ahead of the front from the southwest at 5-12 mph. Gusts may reach as high as 20 mph.

Expect more warmth and partly cloudy skies into the first days of next week. More widespread rain could be possible late next week which could offer relief from the pollen.
