Bibb deputies investigating weekend armed robbery at Macon gas station

Deputies say a masked suspect displayed a firearm and demanded money before running away.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery at a gas station on Hartley Bridge Road.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, deputies were called to the Texaco at 4535 Hartley Bridge Road around 10:49 p.m. Saturday after reports of a commercial armed robbery.

Deputies say someone entered the business, showed a firearm and demanded money from the store clerk. The suspect then ran, heading northbound, with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect was wearing a mask, all black clothing, gloves, sunglasses and white sneakers, according to the sheriff’s office. Surveillance images from the store are attached to this story.
