$8,000 reward offered in decades-old Warner Robins homicide case

Police say 67-year-old Edward Hanley was beaten to death during an apparent robbery nearly four decades ago.

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Warner Robins police are asking for the public’s help solving a decades-old homicide, and an $8,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.

According to the Warner Robins Police Department, officers were called to North First Street near the old train depot on May 28, 1984, where they found the body of 67-year-old Edward Hanley. Police say Hanley had been badly beaten in what was believed to be a robbery.

Investigators say Hanley was living at a boarding house at 106 Young Avenue at the time. Police determined he had left a bar on South First Street and was likely walking back to the boarding house when he was attacked.

The case remains unsolved.
