GBI: Nine arrested in Baldwin County drug operation

Investigators say they seized meth, fentanyl, cocaine and firearms in an operation tied to long-running cases.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A joint drug operation in Baldwin County led to nine arrests after a law enforcement effort targeting ongoing drug distribution investigations.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Ocmulgee Drug Task Force and the GBI Middle Georgia Gang Task Force conducted the operation on Tuesday in Milledgeville. The GBI says the arrests stem from multiple drug investigations conducted in Baldwin County dating back to 2023.

Investigators say the investigations resulted in the seizure of more than 500 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 84 grams of suspected marijuana, 36 grams of suspected cocaine, two grams of suspected fentanyl and five suspected oxycodone pills. They estimate the total street value of the drugs at $50,000.

The following people face charges:

  • 20-year-old Joshua Sergent, of Milledgeville, charged with possession of marijuana.
  • 27-year-old Jervoski Womble, of Milledgeville, charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
  • 34-year-old Thalisha Williams, of Milledgeville, charged with trafficking methamphetamine.
  • 43-year-old Donzo Mosley, of Milledgeville, charged with distribution of methamphetamine and distribution of oxycodone.
  • 43-year-old Eric Roberson, of Eatonton, charged with distribution of cocaine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
  • 44-year-old Toriano Gibson, of Milledgeville, charged with trafficking methamphetamine and distribution of methamphetamine.
  • 45-year-old Gerald Ward, of Milledgeville, charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
  • 58-year-old James Simmons, of Milledgeville, charged with distribution of fentanyl and distribution of oxycodone.
  • 64-year-old John Mosley, of Milledgeville, charged with distribution of methamphetamine.

All nine were booked into the Baldwin County Jail.

The GBI says the operation involved assistance from multiple agencies, including the Georgia Department of Community Supervision, Georgia Department of Corrections, Georgia State Patrol, the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, and police departments from Milledgeville, Dublin and Warner Robins, as well as the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
