Bicyclist killed in crash on Gray Highway in Jones County
The driver remained on scene as deputies continued investigating the crash near Braswell Lake Road.
GRAY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man was killed Monday afternoon after being hit by a vehicle while riding a bicycle on Gray Highway near Braswell Lake Road.
In a Facebook post just after 3:30, the Jones County Sheriff’s Office said deputies and first responders were working a fatality crash in the area and warned drivers to avoid the area and expect delays.
Madilyn Madray, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, later confirmed a man was riding a bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle. Madray said the driver stayed at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
The bicyclist’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
No charges have been announced. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
