“Get outside!” weather Thursday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Sunny and breezy conditions are likely Thursday with below average highs.
This Evening
A mostly sunny and breezy afternoon will give way to a clear and breezy night. Expect things to be cool overnight as temperatures fall into the mid 60s by midnight and likely the upper 50s by Thursday morning. Wind will flow from the northeast at 6-12 mph with gusts still pushing as high as 20 mph.
Tomorrow
Thursday will be the nicest day across Middle Georgia in months; perfect for the beginning of the Georgia National Fair. Highs will largely stay below 80 degrees around the region as the wind continues from the northeast at 5-15 mph. Gusts will hover around 20 mph throughout the afternoon. Cloud cover will be minimal.
Overnight will be mostly clear with lows likely to drop into the mid to upper 50s by Friday morning. Wind will remain from the northeast at 7-12 mph with gusts still hovering close to 17 mph.
Friday and Beyond
Friday will be another pleasant day with highs that hover around 80 degrees (a few below average for this time of year) with that northeast wind continuing to be quite breezy. Conditions may get windier over the weekend as clouds return overnight Friday and Saturday. Rain odds look to stay down until Sunday, however. Moisture from the gulf moving northward will likely lead to a wet start to next week.
The Tropics
Humberto is now a post-tropical cyclone and Hurricane Imelda continues to drift further from the US East Coast. While there are no other areas highlighted by the NHC at this time a bit of a low is expected to develop in the Gulf heading into the weekend. This will likely be tied to the rain chances Middle Georgia may see Sunday/Monday.
