Dodge County Schools Receive AT&T Grant

Dodge County Schools kick off the year with some extra money. On Tuesday, AT&T presented the Dodge County Board of Education with $100,000. The money is part of the company’s “Aspire Initiative” that helps support at-risk ninth graders. It is the final installment of a $400,000 grant. The grant has been used to improve high school retention rates among Dodge County students.

Principal of Dodge County High School, Susan Long says “We feel like it’s really helped us keep a lot of students in school that would have potentially dropped out simply because they had already been unsuccessful in middle school.”

“It’s important to us to be able to support those kinds of initiatives that help students achieve and help them become successful employees in the future and being involved in the community,” says AT&T’s Director of External Affairs Terry Smith.

AT&T has committed $100,000,000 to schools and non-profit organizations around the country that are focused on high school retention.
