ATLANTA (41NBC/WMGT) – A Kathleen man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking a 13-year-old girl in Houston County, according to Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr.

Carr announced Thursday that 43-year-old Noe Borromeo Hernandez, a Mexican national, admitted to purchasing the child for sex as part of his plea.

According to the news release, Hernandez applied for asylum in August 2023 and was taken into custody in November 2024. He was indicted the following month by Carr’s Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit, which began investigating after the child reported being sold for sex in Warner Robins. The arrest was made with assistance from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the U.S. Marshals Service, the Warner Robins Police Department, and the Houston County Sheriff’s Office.

A Houston County Superior Court judge accepted Hernandez’s plea on August 7. He was ordered to serve the first 10 years of his sentence in prison. ICE has placed a detainer on him, and he is expected to be deported after completing his prison term.

“We’re grateful to have a partner in the White House who’s willing to work with us to secure the border and combat human trafficking in our state,” Carr said in the release. “Together, we’re going after the criminal illegal aliens who prey on our children, and we’re saving lives as a result. It’s yet another example of why Georgia continues to lead the nation in this fight, and we’re not letting up anytime soon.”

Hernandez is the second person convicted in the trafficking of this victim. In May 2025, 25-year-old Emma-Lee Garcia was sentenced to 40 years for selling the child to Hernandez and profiting from her sexual servitude.

Two others, Brian Smith and Demaria Williams, still face charges for purchasing the child for sex, according to the AG’s Office.
