Monroe County Sheriff’s Office seeks man last seen with axe after domestic dispute
Deputies say 56-year-old Benjamin Thomas Hobbs was last seen in the Jackson area and may still be armed.

MONROE COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding a man they say left a domestic dispute carrying an axe.
According to a BOLO posted Wednesday morning on the sheriff’s office Facebook page, deputies responded to the area of 2900 Highway 42 North after a reported domestic dispute. The victim told deputies that the suspect, identified as 56-year-old Benjamin Thomas Hobbs, had left the scene with an axe.
The sheriff’s office said Hobbs lives in Jackson and is not believed to still be in the Highway 42 North area. He is described as a white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 203 pounds, with blue eyes and gray hair.
