Manhunt underway for Montana shooting suspect after deadly bar attack
Authorities in Montana are intensifying their search for 45-year-old Michael Paul Brown.

(CNN) – Authorities in Montana are intensifying their search for 45-year-old Michael Paul Brown, who is suspected of killing four people in a bar shooting early Friday morning near Anaconda.
Investigators released a photo of Brown taken shortly before he escaped in a stolen pickup truck—showing him without a shirt or pants. Officials believe he has since found clothing and is now likely on foot. An Army spokesman confirmed Brown served from 2001 to 2005 and was deployed to Iraq. He remained in the Montana National Guard until 2009.
“We have to believe that he is still armed,” Knudsen said. “We don’t know for sure, but we know that this is a person who had access to firearms. Obviously, he has had training with firearms.”
As the search continues, local resident Lacie Grosvold says she’s keeping her nine-year-old daughter close. “We all have to be prepared,” she said. “You think, what would happen if he came up the driveway, or tried to get into my house? Every single person in this community has to think about those things.”
Over the weekend, authorities identified the four victims. The family of Nancy Lauretta Kelley shared memories of her, noting she had recently retired.
The U.S. Marshals are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to Brown’s arrest. Officials say his motive remains unclear.
