Dodge County deputy arrested in Bleckley County for stalking, GBI says
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested a Dodge County Sheriff’s Office deputy who's now charged with stalking and violating his oath of office in connection with an ongoing case in Bleckley County.

COCHRAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested a Dodge County Sheriff’s Office deputy who’s now charged with stalking and violating his oath of office in connection with an ongoing case in Bleckley County.
According to a news release from the GBI, 49-year-old Ronny Lewis Butts of Cochran is charged with misdemeanor counts of harassing communications and stalking, as well as a felony count of violation of oath of office. Butts is currently employed as a deputy with the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, according to the GBI.
The GBI said Bleckley County Sheriff Daniel Cape requested their help on April 4 to investigate allegations that a law enforcement officer was stalking a woman in Bleckley County.
Butts was booked into the Bleckley County Detention Center, according to the release.

Once the investigation is complete, the case file will be turned over to the Oconee Judicial District Attorney’s Office for prosecution, the GBI said.
