Robins Air Force Base contributed $4.2 billion to Georgia’s economy in FY 2024

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Robins Air Force Base contributed $4.2 billion to the state of Georgia in fiscal year 2024.
Local officials celebrated the economic impact at the 2025 State of the Robins Air Force Base luncheon on Thursday.
“Direct base expenditures, approximately $1.3 billion dollars, those are the bills we pay to you,” said Col. Deedrick Reese, Commander of the 78th Air Base Wing.
Reese says Team Robins awarded more than $585.6 million in contracts across the state in fiscal year 2024, almost $200 million of which was awarded locally in Houston and Bibb counties. In that timespan, the workforce at the base was comprised of 22,387 airmen.
Feedback from base employees includes the need for downtown Warner Robins development. LaRhonda Patrick, the Mayor of Warner Robins, says the city is committed to that growth.
“We’ve made huge strides toward that mission, even getting to the point of releasing renderings next week,” Patrick said. “So, it’s coming.”
Another emphasis for base employees moving into the area is access to healthcare. Patrick says the base makes Warner Robins go, and she plans to help it in return.
“To hear how strong our military is right now and how strong Robins Air Force Base is is just so encouraging,” Patrick said. “And we are huge supporters in Warner Robins of all our military and veterans.”
Reese also addressed what he called the elephant in the room: possible program and funding cuts from the Trump administration.
“Some decisions are still pending,” Reese said. “But what I’ll tell you about Robins Air Force Base is Robins Air Force Base will comply with all of our presidential executive orders, and anything beyond that is pure speculation.”
Reese said change is inevitable, and Robins Air Force Base will continue to thrive, while leading with grace and compassion.
“This community and this base together, the resilience is unmatched,” Reese said. “And that’s what’s going to carry us through.”
