Hollywood Minute: Billy Joel postpones concerts

Billy Joel recovers from surgery, Disney banishes press from the "Snow White" premiere, and WB stars do double duty.

(CNN)- Legendary singer-songwriter Billy Joel is pressing pause on his current tour, postponing performances for the next four months as he recovers from recent surgery. According to an announcement on his official Instagram account, Joel will undergo physical therapy during his recovery period. While no specifics about his medical condition have been disclosed, the tour is scheduled to resume on July 5 in Pittsburgh. The post also included rescheduled dates for the eight shows affected by the delay.

Hollywood journalists won’t be covering the red carpet as usual at Disney’s upcoming “Snow White” premiere on March 15. Instead of allowing dozens of media outlets to conduct interviews, Disney has restricted coverage to still photographers and its in-house camera crew. The live-action adaptation, set to open on March 21, has been surrounded by controversy, including debates surrounding its star, Rachel Zegler. The decision to limit press access has fueled speculation about the studio’s handling of the film’s promotion.

Warner Bros. is embracing double-duty performances with several major films featuring actors playing multiple roles. The trend kicks off with “Mickey 17,” where Robert Pattinson stars opposite himself. On March 21, Robert De Niro takes on the challenge of portraying both mobsters Vito Genovese and Frank Costello in “The Alto Knights.” The following month, on April 18, Michael B. Jordan will star as twins in another Warner Bros. project, “Sinners.”
