Shower odds climb Tuesday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A stalled out cold front over the Peach State will bring some rain chances to Middle Georgia starting tonight.
This Evening
It’s been a mostly cloudy start to the new week around Middle Georgia with temperatures that have ranged from the mid 60s into the lower 80s. Expect a lot of variability in temperatures around the region this week thanks to a stalled out cold front (stationary front). A couple small showers will be possible this evening and overnight. Any rain will be light and short lived. Wind could be a bit breezy from the east as gusts range from 15-20 mph. Temperatures will bottom out in the 40s and lower 50s.
Tomorrow
Tuesday will be overcast and warm with a few isolated showers possible over the back half of the day. Wind over the northern half of Middle Georgia will flow from the northeast, however the southern half of the region will see southerly winds. This will lead to a larger temperature disparity between the two halves of the region. Highs could range anywhere from the lower 60s into the lower 80s across Middle Georgia. The winds will be a bit gusty as well.
Overnight will stay cloudy with the odds of showers up a bit from earlier in the day. Low temperatures will be in the 50s and 60s as the wind remains variable courtesy of the stationary front draped over the region.
Wednesday and Beyond
Rain odds will climb further Wednesday as scattered showers are likely around the region. A rumble of thunder or two cannot be ruled out. Temperatures will also rebound back into the 70s and 80s across the region as wind becomes more universal out of the south-southwest at 5-17 mph. Gusts will likely range 20-30 mph.
Storms look likely Thursday as a cold front on the back end of the current front passes through the region. A bit more sunshine is expected for Valentine’s Day on the back side of said front.
