Warming up more Friday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Temperatures should largely eclipse 60 degrees around Middle Georgia Friday afternoon.
This Evening
A sunny afternoon will turn into a clear and chilly night as wind from the west-southwest shifts more towards the west-northwest as it slows to 5-10 mph. Gusts through tonight should reach as high as 15 mph, which is calmer than the 20-25 mph gusts from this afternoon. Once again temperatures are expected to drop to or just below freezing for most of the region. Faucets will not need to be dripped, however that winter coat will be needed again in the morning.
Tomorrow
Most of the day Friday should be rather pleasant with a light and variable wind early becoming southerly at around 5 mph through the rest of the afternoon. Highs will largely reach the lower 60s across the region, however the coolest spots will likely stay just below that mark. High cirrus clouds will begin to arrive during the late afternoon with thicker clouds arriving from the west during the sunset hours.
Overnight will be cloudy and light rain will likely start to arrive from the west around midnight. It will be a warmer night as the rain becomes more widespread through the night and into Saturday morning. Lows will be in the low to mid 40s with south-southeast wind blowing at 5-12 mph, gusting to as high as 20 mph.
This Weekend
Saturday will begin on a soggy note with rain continuing from Friday night into the late morning hours. Off and on showers will remain possible through the rest of the day and into the overnight hours. Highs in the afternoon will be in the mid to upper 50s with overnight lows only falling into the lower 50s. Saturday night will be the warmest night for awhile.
Sunday will feature plenty of clouds early as well as strong northwesterly winds. These will slow some heading into the evening as clouds break up. While afternoon highs will be in the mid to upper 50s, overnight lows will plunge into the lower 20s and faucets will need to be dripped for Sunday night.
