Two Perry Panthers sign letters of intent on National Signing Day
“Really, it’s just like a surreal feeling. I mean, I'm real proud of myself and I appreciate everybody who poured into me and I want to thank God and everybody who put me in a position to sign today,” said Jordan Donald.

PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two Perry Panthers, Kory Pettigrew and Jordan Donald, signed letters of intent on National Signing Day.
Kory Pettigrew, a 6’1 175-pound wide receiver, signed to play for the University of South Florida.
According to documents provided by Perry High School head football coach Kevin Smith, Pettigrew recorded 71 receptions for 767 yards and five touchdowns this season. He also received 2023 GACA All-Star Selection and was a two-time First Team All-Region Selection during his time on the team.
“I feel pretty good. You know, I’m excited for the future and it was a good season, but I’m ready to get to work,” said Kory Pettigrew.
“I am shooting for the NFL, that’s always the goal, you know, trying to be the best at what I do,” he said.
Pettigrew says his favorite and biggest play of the season was against Ware County, and he says it was a game winner.
He is majoring in kinesiology and wants to be a physical therapist.
Jordan Donald, a 6’2, 205-pound linebacker, signed to play for Western Kentucky University.
According to those same documents, Donald had 92 tackles (32 solo, 60 assisted), one sack, five tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one touchdown this season alone. He also received First Team All-Region Linebacker and the 2023 Gaca All-Star Selection honors.
“Really, it’s just like a surreal feeling. I mean, I’m real proud of myself, and I appreciate everybody who poured into me, and I want to thank God and everybody who put me in a position to sign today,” said Jordan Donald.
“It’s a business trip. I’m trying to get on the field as fast as I can, make as many plays as I can, play to the best of my ability,” he said.
We asked about what his biggest play of the season.
“Probably the forced fumble in the fourth quarter against East Coweta, that was a huge turnover for us,” he said.
Donald, who is majoring in general financing, says it would be nice to go to the NFL, but he would be fine stopping after college.
Before the signing, Perry High School head football coach Kevin Smith gave both players Culture Coins that instilled the values of the Perry team and community.
“Man, I’m super excited about Kory Pettigrew and Jordan Donald signing today. You know, they’ve worked really hard, they’re really good athletes, not only on the football field, but in the classroom and in the locker room. You know, they’re good people, they’re good leaders. I’m super excited for them. I’m very thankful for them helping us accomplish some goals here. You know, winning three region championships, winning a state championship during their tenure here at Perry High School, and I’m just super excited for them,” said Smith.
Both players were part of Perry’s 42-10 record over the past four years.
