MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Chilly conditions but sunny skies will accompany Middle Georgia to finish the week.

This Evening

It’s been a windy day across Middle Georgia and that will not change heading through the evening and tonight. Skies will remain clear as wind from the northwest at 10-15 mph continues to bring chilly air into the region. Gusts will push 25 mph. Low temperatures will be in the mid to upper 30s with wind chills likely to dip below freezing.

Tomorrow

Another sunny and windy day is expected to end the work week. In fact, Friday will be even chillier than Thursday as highs only reach the mid to upper 50s around the region vs the lower 60s of Thursday afternoon. Wind will still be quite strong from the northwest as it comes in at 8-16 mph, gusting to 25-30 mph through the afternoon.

Wind should calm some heading into the overnight hours, but gusts of 15-20 mph will still be fair game, especially early. Temperatures will drop into the low to mid 30s but should stay above freezing. Wind chills, however, will likely be around or just below freezing to start Saturday morning.

Saturday will be sunny and slightly breezy with temperatures largely peaking in the lower 60s. High pressure moving through the Peach State will reverse the wind direction overnight to where it will be out of the south come Sunday. This will lead to highs in the upper 60s and allow moisture to begin to return ahead of the new week. Sunday will still see plenty of sunshine as additional cloud cover should hold off until next week.
