After UGA Scrimmage Richt Says Improvement Needed

ATHENS, GA – After Number 19 Georgia’s scrimmage Wednesday against a Bulldogs scout team using Boise State’s playbook, coach Mark Richt says there’s much room for improvement before they face the real Broncos team September 3rd in Atlanta.

Richt says they would not have been ready if the game were played Wednesday.

He says the opening drive of the offense was sloppy and they didn’t look like they were ready.

He says while it wasn’t awful, the play wasn’t clean. He cited communication and substitution patterns as potential concerns.

Richt named four seniors – Brandon Boykin, center Ben Jones, defensive end DeAngelo Tyson and kicker Blair Walsh – as captains for the opener against Number Five Boise State.
