Montezuma Police: 3 arrested in connection with gunfire that damaged Macon County High School
Three teenagers are now in custody in connection with gunfire that damaged the exterior of Macon County High School on Friday and ultimately led to the early release of students as a precautionary measure.

MONTEZUMA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Three teenagers are now in custody in connection with gunfire that damaged the exterior of Macon County High School early Friday and ultimately led to the early release of students as a precautionary measure.
According to the Montezuma Police Department, officers from the Montezuma and Oglethorpe Police Departments monitored Flock cameras and surveillance cameras and identified three people involved.
17-year-old Kadarrious Ray of Montezuma is charged with criminal damage to property, obstruction/hindering, discharging firearm near highway, weapons within a school zone, criminal trespass, theft by taking and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
17-year-old Brian Carswell of Montezuma is charged with obstruction/hindering and conspiracy to commit a crime.
A 15-year-old was charged with conspiracy to commit a crime.
Police say they searched a home at 216 East Adams Street in Montezuma on Monday and found several weapons and “other evidence associated with this incident.” One of the weapons was stolen, according to police.
Ray and Carswell were arrested at Macon County High School.
“I am proud of our staff who worked tirelessly to close this case,” Chief Eric Finch said. “Law enforcement in Macon County take these types of crimes seriously and will bring charges against anyone who commits them.”
Ray and Carswell are both being held in the Macon County Jail. The 15-year-old will be held at the Youth Detention Center.
The Macon County School District Superintendent is hosting a Town Hall meeting on Tuesday to address current safety protocols and take questions from community stakeholders.
