What has been a sunny Wednesday for Middle Georgia will give way to cloudier conditions overnight. Clouds have already begun to arrive in the southern counties and will continue further north this evening. While no rain is expected overnight, a couple of small showers could be moving into the region by sunrise tomorrow. Overnight lows will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s with wind continuing from the northeast at 7-12 mph, gusting as high as 17 mph.

Mostly cloudy if not overcast skies are likely around Middle Georgia Thursday. Some spotty showers will be possible as early as the sunrise, however the concentration of them will climb more in the evening. Highs will mainly reach the lower 80s around the region with wind out of the east-northeast blowing at 10-15 mph, gusting over 20 mph at times.

A Glimpse at Friday

Friday looks to be rather icky for Middle Georgia courtesy of a Gulf Low that is projected to pass over the southeastern counties of the region. This will bring winds of 10-17 mph and gusts of up to 30 mph during the afternoon and evening. To go with the stronger winds will also be widespread shower activity with the possibility for a some spots of heavy rain. Afternoon highs Friday will likely only reach the upper 60s and lower 70s courtesy of this wet pattern (The actual highs for the 24 hour period will be shortly after midnight Thursday night).  Thunder and lightning will be possible, however there likely will not be a whole lot of it due to the region being on the northwestern side of the Low.

The Tropics

Four areas in the Atlantic (one in the Gulf) have under a 40% chance to become tropical depressions in the next 7 days. The ones off the west coast of Africa warrant monitoring for Georgians.
