UPDATE: Coroner identifies man killed in pedestrian hit-and-run on Forsyth Road in Macon

The 30-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene Saturday morning. His name has not been released pending notification of his family.

UPDATE: Coroner Leon Jones identified the man struck and killed early Saturday as Clint Parrish.

According to Jones, it’s the 14th pedestrian death in the county this year.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A 30-year-old pedestrian was killed early Saturday after being struck on Forsyth Road, and deputies say the driver left the scene without reporting it.

According to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, it happened in the 6200 block of Forsyth Road near Aston Hall.

The Macon-Bibb Emergency-911 Center received a report of a person down in the roadway at 5:54 a.m.

Deputies found the man unresponsive in the road. Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley pronounced him dead at the scene.

The sheriff’s office has not released the man’s name pending notification of his family.
