FVPD: One killed, two arrested following May brawl at Fort Valley party
A brawl at a party on May 26 led to the death of one person and the arrest of two others, according to a Facebook post by the Fort Valley Police Department (FVPD).

FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A brawl at a party on May 26 led to the death of one person and the arrest of two others, according to a Facebook post by the Fort Valley Police Department (FVPD).
Police say the officers responded to the scene, in the 900 block of Orange Street, following reports of a “juvenile issue.” Upon arrival, officers discovered a fight had broken out among a group of female juveniles attending the party. The altercation escalated when the juveniles informed their parents and guardians, resulting in a massive brawl involving both children and adults.
During the commotion, police say Miccah Mccant attempted to intervene and break up the fight when shots were fired. Mccant was shot and was also struck by a dark-colored vehicle. First aid was administered at the scene, and emergency medical services took Mccant to Atrium Health Navicent Peach, where he was pronounced dead at 11:06 p.m.
Police say two people were taken into custody. Dexter Oliver is charged with murder. Beonkia Rumph faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault, operating a disorderly house, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and possession of drug-related objects.
