Houston County School District’s Summer Lunch Program begins in May

Programs interested in participating in the summer lunch program must be located in Houston County community, but children wanting a free meal can live in any Middle Georgia county.

HOUSTON COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –Around 30-million children in the Untied States rely on free or reduced meals at school for at least one meal a day, so when schools’ out, those students are missing meals.

I sat down with Meredith Potter from the Houston County School District about how they are implementing, the summer meal program, and are asking local organizations for help.

The program is starting May 28th and run through July 19th.
