Peachtree City’s Reed Sorenson Takes Nationwide Points Battle To Road America
ELKHART LAKE, WI – Peachtree City’s Reed Sorenson is locked in a very tight battle for the NASCAR Nationwide Series championship, sitting just four points out of the lead after his 11th place finish in Michigan last week.
Sorenson and his #32 Dollar General team head to the Road America road course, a track he’s never raced before. “Going up to Road America this weekend is going to be a new challenge for me. It’s one I’m looking forward to though,” he said. “I think the first thing I need to do is make sure I have a handle on mapping out the track and which way the turns come at me.”
Last week, Sorenson joined teammates Ricky Carmichael and Justin Allgaier at Road America to drive Mazda sports cars around the track with driving instructor, Chris Cook. While Mazda cars are very different than the Nationwide cars, the experience allowed the Turner Motorsports drivers to get a feel for the course.
“I’m really excited to get up to Road America and see what we can do.· I think we’ll definitely have some fun,” Sorenson said.
