Macon-Bibb Coroner Leon Jones identified the man found dead on Tuesday as 41-year-old Larry Wayne Blackmon.

UPDATE (3/13/24): Macon-Bibb Coroner Leon Jones identified the man found dead as 41-year-old Larry Wayne Blackmon.

A previous update stated the individual had been identified as another man, based on a fingerprint scanner identification reported by Macon-Bibb Coroner Leon Jones. Upon further investigation, Coroner Jones spoke with that man’s father, who indicated his son could not be the deceased as he was in prison at the time. Jones says a subsequent scan by a Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) scanner correctly identified the man as Blackmon. Blackmon’s next of kin has been notified.
