MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Religious leaders across Macon-Bibb came together at The Tubman African American Museum, to discuss various issues in the community and potential solutions, in the first ‘Mayor’s Council of Clergy Luncheon’ of the year on Thursday.

Macon-Bibb Mayor Lester Miller highlighted the county’s growth and economic accomplishments.

The Pastor of Community Church of God, Jason McClendon, says it’s all about keeping their congregations in the loop.

“We’re able to inform all our congregants about the updates and also to keep them aware of what’s going on in the city, because not everybody really reads the newspaper or knows what’s going on,” said Pastor McClendon. “So this is a way of basically keeping our community informed of what’s taking place in the city.”

The council usually meets every other month on Thursday. The meetings are open to the public.
