Gresham Motorsports Park In Jefferson Offers Race Fans Lots Of Extras
JEFFERSON, GA – Gresham Motorsports Park in Jefferson is fast becoming a premier short track facility in the Southeast. Originally opened as Jefco Speedway in 1967, the track is now managed by NASCAR veteran Dan Elliott, brother of 1988 NASCAR Cup Champion, Bill Elliott.
Facility improvements have race teams at all levels, including the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, coming to Jefferson for testing and creative promotions have fans excited about short track racing at the half-mile asphalt track known in racing circles as “Georgia’s Fastest Short Track.”
On Saturday, June 11th GMP will be hosting the Slack Auto Parts 150 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race along with a full slate of racing including Outlaw Late Models, Mini Stocks, Trucks, Renegades and Mini Cups racers.
As an early Father’s Day gift during the event all dads get in FREE with the purchase of one general adult admission. The gates open at 11 AM with an autograph session at 5 PM, then opening ceremonies at 6 PM.
The track has taken tailgating to a new level with “trackside parking” giving fans a unique race viewing experience. Fans in trackside parking will be able to able to text their food order to GMP’s concession stands and have it delivered to their vehicle.
Tailgaters can even compete for prizes based on their tailgating displays. Participants are judged on decorations, number of people in the group as well as their excitement and enthusiasm.
GMP has many events and contest planned for race day with valuable prizes including tickets to NASCAR events at Atlanta Motor Speedway and at Talledega Motor Speedway.
